ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the statue quo of psychological resilience of breast cancer patients during chemotherapy period and its influencing factors.@*Methods@#From December 12 to May 2018, Totally 165 breast cancer patients during chemotherapy period in Department of Mammary Chemotherapy of Zhejiang Cancer Hospital were investigated by self-designed demographic questionnaire, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and the Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire.@*Results@#The total score of psychological resilience for breast cancer patients during chemotherapy period was (60.26±16.17)points.Multiple regression analysis showed that marital status, transfer, confront and resignation coping style were the influencing factors for psychological resilience(t=-3.048, 3.216, 3.070, -3.044, all P<0.05).@*Conclusion@#The level of psychological resilience of breast cancer patients is poor and multivariate analysis appears that marital status, transfer, confront and resignation coping style are important influencing factors.

ABSTRACT

El fundamento central de este estudio estuvo dirigido a determinar las estrategias de afrontamiento empleadas por los padres de niños y adolescentes con cáncer, debido a que sus hijos se encuentran en constante cambio físico, social y psicológico, producto de la enfermedad que padecen y los procedimientos médicos a los cuales deben ser sometidos. El tipo y nivel de investigación fue descriptivo de campo; la población estuvo compuesta por padres que asisten al Hospital de Especialidades Pediátricas de Maracaibo, seleccionándose una muestra no probabilística de 118 sujetos de niños con diagnóstico reciente, en tratamiento y fuera de tratamiento. Los datos fueron obtenidos por medio del cuestionario de estimación del afrontamiento. Los resultados fueron analizados con estadísticas descriptivas inferenciales. Se determinó que la estrategia comúnmente empleada por los padres de niños y adolescentes con cáncer fue la centrada en el problema, así como las dimensiones afrontamiento religioso y la reinterpretación positiva. Se observaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre los grupos, con un estadístico igual a 0,033 (P<0,05) en la dimensión retraimiento, la cual fue menor en el grupo de padres de los hijos que se encuentran fuera de tratamiento, y 0,00 (P<0,05) en la dimensión de aceptación, la cual se encuentra predominante en el grupo de tratamiento y fuera de tratamiento y negación 0,00 (P<0,05) se encontró exacerbada en el grupo de padres de niños y adolescentes con diagnóstico reciente.


The central basis of this study was to determine the coping strategies used by the parents of children and adolescents with diagnostic of cancer, because their children are constantly changing in physical aspects, social and psychological, resulting from disease sufferers and procedures physicians who must besubjected parents being the main figure of support and emotional support. The type and level of field research was descriptive, the population was comprised of parents attending to the Pediatric Specialty Hospital of Maracaibo, selecting a probability sample of 118 subjects of children with newly diagnosed, in treatment and off treatment. The data were obtained through the estimation of coping questionnaire. The all results were analyzed with a descriptive statistics inferential. It was determined that the strategy commonly used by the parents of the children and the adolescents with cancer was centeredon the problem, and the religious coping dimensions and the positive reinterpretation. The statistically significant differences were observed between the groups, with a statistically equal to 0.033 (P <0.05) in the scale withdrawal, which was lower in the group of parents of the children who are outside of treatment, and 0.00 (P<0.05) in the dimension of the acceptance, which is found predominantly in the treatment group and treatment and the denial was 0.00 (P <0.05) were found exacerbated in the group of parents of children and newly diagnosed adolescents.
